Basketball Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

Carroll had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 8-11 to make it four. They were outmatched by the West Brook Bruins and fell 77-41. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 741st, while the Bruins are ranked 150th).

As for West Brook, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-3. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 29 points or more this season.

Christian Haskett was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 73% from the field en route to 19 points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Austin Stewart, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Carroll and King will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. West Brook will take on Fort Bend Clements in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
