Recap: Lee Generals vs. Independence Eagles
On Friday, the stars were shining brightly for Lee in a 52-35 victory over Independence. Given Lee's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 57th in Alabama, while Independence is ranked 207th in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaliyah Fleming, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Riley Brooks, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Lee is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Independence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Lee won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against The Webb School at 5:30 p.m. on December 16th. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to face off against Green Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
