Football Game Preview: Manville Mustangs vs. Burlington City Blue Devils + How To Watch

The Manville Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Burlington City Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Manville comes in on ten and Burlington City on four.

Manville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Asbury Park to the tune of 35-0. Considering the Mustangs have won nine games by more than 28 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Manville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josh D'Ambrosio out in front who rushed for 173 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 116 yards and one TD. D'Ambrosio really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Isaiah Bennett was another key rusher, gaining 128 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Manville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 195 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Burlington City's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They really took it to Bound Brook for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Blue Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Crusaders are ranked 307th).

Manville better keep an eye on Donte Davis. He was instrumental in Burlington City's win, rushing for 250 yards and three scores on only eight carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Davis has posted since back in September.

Manville's record now sits at 10-0. As for Burlington City, their record is now 9-1.
