Softball Recap: Homestead Takes a Loss

Homestead suffered their closest loss since May 6, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Carroll Chargers by a score of 4-2. The Spartans have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Grace Jordan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Carroll, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Homestead and Carroll should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Spartans will challenge Adams Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (48 vs. 289). Meanwhile, Carroll (ranked 35th) will meet Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (ranked 115th) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
