Basketball Recap: Jager Woodring's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Neumann Regional Academy over Montgomery

Neumann Regional Academy came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Montgomery Red Raiders by a score of 64-62 on Wednesday. The Golden Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Neumann Regional Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jager Woodring, who posted 20 points. The dominant performance gave Woodring a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Walter, who earned 15 points.

Neumann Regional Academy is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Montgomery, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neumann Regional Academy will host Loyalsock Township at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Montgomery, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Galeton at 1:30 p.m. Montgomery has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
