Basketball Recap: Lemmon Cowboys vs. Harding County Ranchers
It was a good run, but the Lemmon Cowboys unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 56-43 to Harding County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lemmon has scored all season.
Jaelyn Wendt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Harding County, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Wendt is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Kaylen Padden was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Lemmon's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-2. As for Harding County, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0.
Lemmon will square off against the Ranchers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Harding County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 306 points over their last five matchups.
