Soccer Game Preview: North Johnston vs. North Lenoir + How To Watch

The North Johnston Panthers will square off against the North Lenoir Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Johnston has given up an average of 2.7 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Johnston is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Washington on Wednesday. They came up short against the Pam Pack, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, North Johnston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Washington are ranked 99th).

Meanwhile, North Lenoir kept a clean sheet against West Craven on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for North Lenoir, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit West Craven with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from MADDOX SMITH (5), PHILLIP JEFFERSON (2), ISRAEL ALMANZA, and EVAN SMITH.

North Lenoir pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for North Johnston, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-15-2.
