Baseball Game Preview: Raceland Rams vs. Cabell Midland Knights

The Raceland Rams will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Cabell Midland Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Raceland will be strutting in after a victory while Cabell Midland will be coming in after a defeat.

Raceland gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past East Carter 14-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Bryer Parsons tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Michael Pennington was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Parker Ison, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Raceland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Cabell Midland unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak dating back to last season on Monday. They fell just short of Point Pleasant by a score of 2-1.

Everything went Raceland's way against Cabell Midland in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as Raceland made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Raceland since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
