It was a good run, but Voyageur Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Old Redford Academy Ravens by a score of 61-59. While losing is never fun, the Cougar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Ravens are ranked 41st).

Voyageur Academy's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Old Redford Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Voyageur Academy has already played their next match, an 83-59 victory against Edison Academy on the 1st. As for Old Redford Academy, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Old Redford Academy Ravens take on the East Kentwood Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on February 8th.
