Softball Recap: Thousand Oaks Wins Going Away Against Hueneme

While Thousand Oaks put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Hueneme. The Thousand Oaks Lancers were the clear victor by a 25-0 margin over the Hueneme Vikings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Samantha Case was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one triple while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia LePage, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and three doubles. Another player making a difference was Madison Jauregui, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run.

Thousand Oaks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hueneme only posted an OBP of .000.

Thousand Oaks' record now sits at 2-0. As for Hueneme, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thousand Oaks will take on Santa Paula at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hueneme, they will challenge Foothill Tech at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
