Football Game Preview: Oakhaven Hawks vs. Manassas Tigers

The Oakhaven Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Manassas Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oakhaven is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 30.2 points per game this season.

Oakhaven lost a heartbreaker the last time they played KIPP Collegiate, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Hawks blew past the phoenix 40-20 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Gregory Walls produced another solid performance rushing for 171 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 108.6 rushing yards per game.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Oakhaven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 319 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Another reason for the win was Oakhaven's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Lequinton Montgomery with two.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manassas). They secured a 26-20 W over Booker T. Washington on Friday.

Oakhaven's record now sits at 5-3. As for Manassas, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Oakhaven against Manassas in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 50-0 victory. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
