Leyden has gone a perfect 10-0 against Berwyn/Cicero Morton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 4:45 p.m. Leyden has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Leyden is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Thursday. They fell 13-10 to Hinsdale Central.

Leyden saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elise Bertsche, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Bianca Rosas also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Berwyn/Cicero Morton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Proviso East on Saturday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Pirates. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Abby Galvez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Torres, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Leyden, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Leyden came out on top in a nail-biter against Berwyn/Cicero Morton in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
