Basketball Game Preview: The Oakwood School Eagles vs. Washington Montessori Eagles

The Oakwood School will face off against Washington Montessori at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

After dropping their season opener at home, Washington Montessori is headed out to face a Eagles squad ready to give their home crowd a win. The Oakwood School fell 45-38 to Christ Covenant on Friday. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 15-2 in the first quarter.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Braven Blount, who posted 14 points. James Miller was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Washington Montessori was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by North East Carolina Prep and fell 73-38. The Eagles were down 58-29 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Everything came up roses for The Oakwood School against Washington Montessori in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, as the team secured a 53-22 win.
