Cook had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Ware County Gators an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cook's victory bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Ware County, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Cook will welcome Tattnall County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ware County, they will head out to take on Brunswick at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
