Baseball Game Preview: Warner Eagles vs. Sequoyah Indians

The Warner Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Sequoyah Indians at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warner's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Thursday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Warner came up short against Dewar on Tuesday, falling 12-2.

Kade Fowler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Sequoyah hadn't done well against Sperry recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Indians walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Pirates. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sperry's batters probably weren't too happy with Karson Briscoe, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up five walks). Briscoe also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sequoyah is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Sequoyah saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hanley Eusebio, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Bryce Girty was another, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Sequoyah's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Warner, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

Warner came out on top in a nail-biter against Sequoyah in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
