McClave extends road winning streak to three

Recap: McClave Cardinals vs. Syracuse Bulldogs

The McClave Cardinals had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They managed a 42-37 victory over Syracuse. That's another feather in the cap for McClave, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

McClave's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abrielle Gomez, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The match was Gomez's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of McKayla Kiniston, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

McClave has yet to lose a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 3-0 record. As for Syracuse, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

McClave will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cheyenne Wells at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Syracuse, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wichita County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wichita County and Syracuse are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
