Carlisle and North Union squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Carlisle had to settle for second. They took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Indians' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Carlisle lost, don't look at Alex Collins. Despite the final result, he rushed for 174 yards and three scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Pelfrey, who gained 89 total yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Vanhoose, who rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns. Vanhoose is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 7-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). North Union also got help from Griffin Osborne, who showed off his sure hands for 130 receiving yards.

Carlisle's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for North Union, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Carlisle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Union, they will challenge Indian Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
