Saxony Lutheran piles up the points against Woodland

The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders waltzed into their game Sunday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 63-24 victory over Woodland on the road. Saxony Lutheran might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 39 points or more this season.

Saxony Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evie Caruso, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and eight blocks. The contest was Caruso's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Haley, who scored ten points along with six assists and five steals.

Saxony Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Woodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Saxony Lutheran will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sikeston at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
