Recap: Northwest Classen Knights vs. Memorial Chargers
If the Northwest Classen Knights were riding high off their 87-59 takedown of the Eisenhower Eagles on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Northwest Classen took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial on Friday. While losing is never fun, Northwest Classen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Memorial is ranked 72nd).
It was another big night for Jalil Cotton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds for Memorial. The match was Cotton's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fabian Harris, who scored 12 points.
Northwest Classen has fallen quite a ways from their 16-6 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Memorial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Northwest Classen will be playing at home against Norman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lawton at 6:00 p.m. on December 9th. One thing working in Lawton's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
