Soccer Recap: Southern Regional Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Southern Regional and Manalapan meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Rams came up short against the Braves, falling 4-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Southern Regional of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Southern Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1. As for Manalapan, they now have a winning record of 4-3-2.

Southern Regional and Manalapan will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Rams see the pitch they'll take on Hammonton at 4:15 p.m. on the 27th. As for Manalapan, their break will end when they face Matawan Regional on the 30th.
