Baseball Recap: Westminster Christian Comes Up Short

Westminster Christian was the 14-8 winner over Miami Springs when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Westminster Christian Warriors fell 4-1 to the Miami Springs Golden Hawks on Wednesday.

Westminster Christian got a good showing from Michael Vigil, who didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Vigil has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Westminster Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Mejia, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. James Suarez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Westminster Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Miami Springs, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westminster Christian will challenge Mater Lakes Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Westminster Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Mater Lakes Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Miami Springs, they will face off against TERRA Environmental at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Miami Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
