Volleyball Recap: Monterey Trail Find Success + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Franklin, Monterey Trail was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Kennedy Cougars 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Monterey Trail wouldn't go down easily and took Kennedy into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 15-10.

Monterey Trail found their leader in sophomore Caelyn De Vera, who had five digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for De Vera.

Monterey Trail was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since the start of last season.

Monterey Trail's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Kennedy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Monterey Trail has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Laguna Creek on the 18th. As for Kennedy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against River City on the 18th.
