Softball Recap: Downey Beats Artesia for Their Third Straight Victory

Downey entered their tilt with Artesia on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Artesia Pioneers as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by nine runs or more this season.

Hayden Hinchman and Delilah Navarro did most of the damage at the plate: Hinchman scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Navarro scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Navarro a new career-high. Sophia Hernandez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Downey was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .348 or higher in three consecutive games.
