Port Allegany proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Kane Wolves 9-8. The Gators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

The team relied heavily on Kellen Veilleux, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Aiden Bliss was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Port Allegany's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Kane, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Port Allegany is taking a road trip to square off against Northern Potter at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kane, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Bradford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves are facing the Owls at the right time seeing as the Owls are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
