Baseball Game Preview: Gainesville Red Elephants vs. Milton Eagles

The Gainesville Red Elephants will head out to take on the Milton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gainesville has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 24.

Things were looking good for Gainesville after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Milton by a score of 9-8.

Cohen Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was CJ Saudarg, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Milton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
