The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens are taking a road trip to challenge the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon Crest Academy will be strutting in after a victory while San Dieguito Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Canyon Crest Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Vista by a score of 11-7. With that win, the Ravens brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Andie Warner, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sophie Kearse, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Canyon Crest Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 6-2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, San Dieguito Academy started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against El Camino. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Tuesday.
Willow Wright was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Aubrey Early was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
San Dieguito Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-6-1. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-12-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Canyon Crest Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like San Dieguito Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
