Basketball Recap: Lead Hill Tigers vs. Jasper Pirates

If Lead Hill was riding high fresh off their 54-20 takedown of Mount Judea last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lead Hill Tigers were beaten by the Jasper Pirates 81-24 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent defeat being a 63-19 loss on February 4th.

Despite the defeat, Lead Hill saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kennedy Hudson en route to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Hattie Hughes, who posted no points along with seven boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Lead Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.
