Basketball Recap: Conestoga Christian Starts Season with Win at Home

Conestoga Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ephrata Mennonite Legends with a sharp 74-54 win. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 60-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Josh Boutaugh was a one-man wrecking crew as he went 12-for-18 to rack up 27 points and seven rebounds. His big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Micah Watkins was another key player, shooting 55% from the field en route to 16 points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conestoga Christian will host Lancaster County Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th. As for Ephrata Mennonite, they will be playing at home against Dayspring Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
