Wisner-Pilger dropped down to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 25-8 bruising from the Pender Pendragons. The game marked the Gators' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Jaxon Knoell threw for 38 yards on two of six attempts. On the ground, Logan Nelson rushed for 130 yards and one touchdown.

As for Pender, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.9 points over those games.

Zander Welsh had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 88 yards and one score on only eight carries, while also throwing for 114 yards and a pair of TDs. Owen Larsen got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Wisner-Pilger and Pender are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Gators will square off against Hartington-Newcastle on Thursday. As for Pender, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mead at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
