Basketball Recap: Powell Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Powell unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 65-55 to the Alcoa Tornadoes on Saturday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Alcoa has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Powell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-47 defeat against White County on the 22nd. As for Alcoa, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Loudon at 7:30 p.m. on December 9.
