Soccer Game Preview: Villa Park vs. Mayfair

The Villa Park Spartans will square off against the Mayfair Monsoons at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Villa Park fell victim to Cajon and their airtight defense on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cowboys. Villa Park have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, Mayfair kept a clean sheet against St. Anthony on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Saints 1-0.

The win got Mayfair back to even at 1-1. As for Villa Park, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Villa Park took their victory against Mayfair when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 5-1 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Monsoons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
