Softball Recap: Braxton County Comes Up Short

If Braxton County was feeling good fresh off their 18-10 takedown of Poca on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles lost 19-5 to the Lincoln Cougars on Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Braxton County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jade Chapman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Braxton County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Lincoln, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Braxton County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 20-6 loss against Elk Valley Christian on the 16th. Lincoln has also already played their next contest (against Lewis County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
