League recap: Baker powers South Sevier with hot hitting week

2A Region 15 league recap: 3/27/13

Patrick Baker was on fire this week, as he led 2A Region 15 with a .625 average, two home runs and five RBIs. South Sevier went 1-1.

Grand County outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Red Devils beat Nucla 13-3 and the Mustangs 13-2.

The Rams' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 22 hits and 14 walks to lead the league in both categories.

With five runs batted in this week, South Sevier's Baker increased his league-leading total in that category to five.

Baker drove in two home runs this week.



Baker drove in five runners on Friday in the Rams' 13-12 victory over San Juan. He went 3-for-5 and scored three runs.

Baker was the star in South Sevier's 13-12 triumph over the Broncos, as he cracked two home runs balls over the fence in the game. Baker's big day included five RBIs and three runs scored, as he went 3-for-5.
