Soccer Recap: Fernley Comes Up Short

Fernley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spring Creek Spartans. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Fernley couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Tillie Gillespie, who's now up to two this season.

Fernley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Spring Creek, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10.

Coming up, Fernley will square off against Churchill County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spring Creek, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against Lowry on the 21st.
