Baseball Recap: Beaumont Comes Up Short

Beaumont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Cajon Cowboys. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to the Cowboys when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Beaumont saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Kubotsu, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Kubotsu brought in this season.

Beaumont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cajon, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaumont will head out to square off against Yucaipa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Yucaipa's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Beaumont's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cajon, they will be taking part in a tournament against Chaparral at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cajon's pitchers better be ready for this one: Chaparral has averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
