Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tompkins). Everything went their way against the Seven Lakes Spartans on Friday as the Tompkins Falcons made off with an 82-56 victory. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Spartans are ranked 766th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tompkins is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Seven Lakes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 18 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

Tompkins and Chaparral will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Seven Lakes, they will take on Cypress Springs at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cypress Springs has 13 straight wins, Seven Lakes has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
