Football Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 41-6 loss at the hands of the Northwestern Bulls. The Explorers lost against the Bulls in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 23-18 score last time.

Christopher Barrow threw for 129 yards while completing 81.8% of his passes. Samuel Barreiro was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Northwestern, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Columbus will host South Dade at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Explorers will be up against the Buccaneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Northwestern, they will venture away from home to square off against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Bulls their first taste of in-conference action this season.
