Recap: South Mountain Jaguars vs. Westview Knights
The South Mountain Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 69-52 bruising from Westview. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Mountain in their matchups with Westview: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, South Mountain had strong showings from Tyler Pena, who scored 14 points, and Nick Robinson, who scored 11 points. Damion Ruiz-Graham was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Jhordan Bowls was a one-man wrecking crew for Westview as he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 19 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cartier Flores, who scored 13 points.
South Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Westview, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
South Mountain will be playing at home against Apollo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apollo is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Westview, they will head out on the road to face off against Tolleson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Tolleson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
