Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middletown). They walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Colerain Cardinals on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given Middletown's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 371st, while Colerain are ranked 164th).

Middletown's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Colerain, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will challenge Harrison at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Middletown's defense better be ready for this one: Harrison have averaged an impressive 2.8 goals per game this season. As for Colerain, they will face off against Talawanda at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
