Volleyball Recap: Cedar Catholic's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, Cedar Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Boone Central Cardinals, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their five-match losing streak.

Cedar Catholic was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-100), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 18-25, 17-25, 15-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cedar Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kally Becker, who had nine digs and two aces. That's the most digs Becker has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Autumn Kathol, who had 16 assists and 12 digs.

Brooklyn Primrose and Tresdyn Stephens certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Primrose had 23 assists and ten digs, while Stephens had eight digs and four aces.

Cedar Catholic's win bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Boone Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

Cedar Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Battle Creek on the 20th. As for Boone Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Pierce on the 20th.
