East Prairie is still undefeated this season after their contest against New Madrid County Central on Saturday, but New Madrid County Central came as close as anyone has to beating them. East Prairie came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against New Madrid County Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win East Prairie has posted since March 25, 2025.

Jonna Rice made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Raleigh Cogdill was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Jordan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

East Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

East Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 8-0-1. As for New Madrid County Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-6 record.

East Prairie wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-4 win against Malden on the 11th. Hopefully New Madrid County Central paid attention to East Prairie's game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on East Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
