Basketball Game Preview: East Surry Cardinals vs. Surry Central Golden Eagles

The East Surry Cardinals just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Surry Central Golden Eagles at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in East Surry's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when East Surry took on West Stokes on Monday. East Surry took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Stokes. The Cardinals' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Surry Central played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 83-59 to North Surry. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Golden Eagles have suffered since November 28, 2023.

East Surry will need focus on slowing down Jax Whitaker, one of several Surry Central players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tripp Mcmillen, who posted 14 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Surry Central's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for East Surry, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
