Football Game Preview: Liberty Christian Patriots vs. Wahkiakum Mules + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Trenten Ralston and Jayden Stoddard are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Liberty Christian Patriots will face off against the Wahkiakum Mules at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Liberty Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Darrington 56-14. The victory was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on four straight.

Adam Siever was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 72 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Liberty Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Liberty Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Ashton Hardenbrook and Silas Bjur, who racked up four sacks between them.

Meanwhile, Wahkiakum faced Pomeroy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mules took their game with ease, bagging a 66-34 win over the Pirates. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-14.

Liberty Christian better keep an eye on Cooper Carlson. He was instrumental in Wahkiakum's win, picking up 120 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 62 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Gage Robinson, who picked up 76 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Liberty Christian's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Wahkiakum, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.

Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Liberty Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 168.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wahkiakum struggles in that department as they've been averaging 209.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
