Baseball Recap: Round Lake Comes Up Short

Round Lake extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 22 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-18. They came up short against the Grayslake North Knights, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-2 defeat on Wednesday.

Round Lake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Russ, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Grayslake North, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.

On Grayslake North's side, the team relied heavily on Tommy Brocks, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Brocks a new career-high. Nate Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Coming up, Round Lake will face off against Wauconda at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grayslake North, they will take on Palatine at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
