Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Serena

Serena entered their tilt with Orion on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Orion Chargers by a score of 39-29. Given the Huskers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Chargers are ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Serena has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Orion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

When Serena and Orion next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Serena will try to stop St. Bede's six-game winning streak when the meet at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Orion will challenge Rockridge and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
