Basketball Recap: Julia Bonbrake's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mount De Sales Academy over Central Fellowship Christian Academy

Mount de Sales Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 47-36 to the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Lancers are ranked 33rd).

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julia Bonbrake, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Bonbrake a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Latimer, who posted nine points along with six boards and six steals.

Mount de Sales Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Mount de Sales Academy will head out on the road to challenge Tattnall Square Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they will welcome Gatewood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
