Football Game Preview: Point Pleasant Boro Panthers vs. Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs + How To Watch

The Point Pleasant Boro Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Friday, it was close, but Point Pleasant Boro sidestepped Toms River North for a 17-14 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Jake Clayton had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 178 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 25 yards and one TD. What's more, he racked up 95.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Point Pleasant Boro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Owen Hart and Lincoln Blasi.

Meanwhile, Rumson-Fair Haven posted their closest victory since December 4, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Middletown South 17-14. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Rumson-Fair Haven's record now sits at 5-3. As for Point Pleasant Boro, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Point Pleasant Boro took a serious blow against Rumson-Fair Haven when the teams last played back in August, falling 34-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
