Baseball Game Preview: McGehee Owls vs. Harmony Grove Hornets

McGehee hasn't had much luck against Harmony Grove recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Owls will face off against the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

McGehee's last matchup with Rison could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Owls came up short against the Wildcats, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Owls couldn't push the score so high this time.

McGehee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Jefferson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Jefferson is becoming a predictor of the Owls' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, Harmony Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-1 to Ashdown.

Harmony Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for McGehee, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

McGehee couldn't quite finish off Harmony Grove in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Owls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
