Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Takes a Loss

Santa Fe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost to the Whittier Cardinals at home by a 64-50 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-65 back in January.

Whittier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Niko Caro, who posted 14 points. Christopher Heape was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Whittier, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Santa Fe has already played their next contest, a 47-46 win against El Rancho on the 3rd. As for Whittier, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-81 victory against California on the 3rd.
