Basketball Game Preview: McKenzie Tigers vs. Luverne Tigers + How To Watch

McKenzie hasn't had much luck against Luverne recently, but that could start to change on Monday. McKenzie will square off against Luverne at 7:00 p.m. McKenzie will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

McKenzie is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Flomaton: they outscored them in every quarter. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 50-25 margin over the Hurricanes on Friday.

McKenzie can attribute much of their success to Devin Covan, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 25 points and seven boards, and Quay Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Jackson a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%).

Meanwhile, Luverne earned a 62-52 win over New Brockton on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Gamecocks: they've now won three in a row.

McKenzie's record now sits at 3-0. As for Luverne, their record is now 2-0.

McKenzie took a serious blow against Luverne in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 62-34. Can McKenzie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
